Emma Woodman
Welcome to Brainwaves Education
I am an experienced assessor, having carried out assessments for Dyslexia and Dyscalculia for the past 13 years.
Through working as Director of Brainwaves Education LTD, I have established a vast amount of experience in carrying out diagnostic assessments across a range of specific Learning Difficulties, assessing students from the age of seven through to adulthood for Dyslexia and carrying out post 16 educational assessments for Developmental Co-ordination Disorder and ADHD. I have always ensured that I keep abreast of ongoing changes within the field of SpLD including developing my practice in carrying out remote assessments.
I have successfully renewed my Assessment Practising Certificate four times.
As an experienced assessor, I also have experience of mentoring and training newly qualified assessors and existing assessors who had failed their Assessment Practising Certificate. In 2024 I successfully gained my Masters Degree in Psychology, the focus of my research involved exploring how students with Dyslexia are using artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce barriers to learning, within higher education. I have previous experience of working as an SplD assessor at University of Cambridge.
My passion for learning and research is life-long; I continue to carry out consultancy work for a leading educational publisher, standardising new assessments within the field of Dyslexia and ADHD.
